Kelpies at Chicago
This sculpture is called Kelpies. It constitutes two massive stainless steel horse heads, named after mythical water beasts of Scotland. It is 10 feet high and located near the Field Museum, Chicago.
Kelpie, or water kelpie, is the Scots name given to a shape-shifting water spirit inhabiting the lochs and pools of Scotland. It has usually been described as appearing as a horse, but is able to adopt human form.
